International Workshop | Parma, Italy | 29 May 2026
The PERSEUS project is pleased to announce the international workshop “Cancer Nanomedicine: Forging a Path to the Clinic”, taking place on 29 May 2026 in Parma, Italy.
This workshop will provide a focused forum for researchers, clinicians, and experts in nanomedicine and drug delivery to come together and explore the latest advances in nanotechnology-based cancer therapies. With a strong emphasis on clinical translation, the event aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world medical application.
Advancing Nanomedicine Towards Clinical Impact
Despite significant progress in nanotechnology, the translation of innovative solutions into clinical practice remains a major challenge. This workshop addresses this critical gap by fostering direct scientific exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Present and discuss recent advances in cancer nanomedicine
- Examine scientific and technological barriers to clinical translation
- Explore emerging approaches in drug delivery and therapeutic design
- Identify promising directions for future research and collaboration
In addition to invited talks, the workshop will include dedicated discussion sessions designed to encourage open exchange of ideas and perspectives.
Supporting the Next Generation of Researchers
A key feature of the event is the opportunity for early-career researchers to present their work. By creating space for new voices, the workshop aims to enrich the scientific dialogue and support the development of the next generation of experts in the field.
PERSEUS: A New Approach to Cancer Therapy
The workshop builds on the innovative work of the PERSEUS project, funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC).
PERSEUS is developing a novel nanotechnology-based therapeutic approach targeting deep-seated, drug-resistant, and metastatic tumours. The project leverages multifunctional nanosystems that can be activated by low-energy X-rays, enabling:
- Targeted treatment of otherwise inaccessible tumours
- Multimodal therapeutic effects with minimal adverse impact
- Potential applicability across different cancer types
By combining nanotechnology, imaging, and immunotherapy, PERSEUS aims to open new pathways for effective and accessible cancer treatment.
Join Us in Parma
